Manufacturer note: Jib cranes SHOULD NOT be hung from any existing building structure WITHOUT FIRST consulting a qualified architect or engineer for the purpose of determining if the structure is adequate. Severe bodily injury and property damage can result if this procedure is not followed.
About Wall Mounted Jib Cranes
Span: The distance from the pivot point to the end of the boom. Sizes from 8 ft. to 30 ft. long – for shipping purposes, longer spans will arrive in two sections and have welded stiffener plates with bolt-on connections.
Wall Bracket Centers: The distance between the center point of the top and bottom wall brackets. This is the minimum clear space needed to install a wall mounted jib crane to a building support member.
Clear Span: The usable space upon which a trolley or hoist can travel.
Thrust/ Pull: Forces exerted upon a wall by a wall mounted jib crane. Calculated as the force exerted on the top wall bracket to pull away from the wall and the force exerted on the bottom mounting bracket to push toward the wall when the crane is under maximum load.
